Today digital television is one of the premier issues in Russia.
By the end of 2015 it is expected that digital broadcasting will cover the whole Russian Federation territory; giving to people the opportunity to see over 18 free digital TV channels and an HDTV channel. But the “Development of TV and radio broadcasting for 2009-2015”, the Federal digitalization program has an important impact also on related economic sectors, involving at the moment 45 manufacturers and 62 integrative companies.
Through 7-9 February 2012 in Moscow, at the IEC “Crocus Expo” - Pavilion 1- will be held the 14th CSTB’2012, the most representative media event for TV that covers the cutting-edge formats and trends of TV and telecommunication technologies: digital free-to-air TV; cable and satellite TV; IPTV; OTT TV; HDTV and 3DTV; TV content; broadband; multi-service networks; wireless technologies; satellite communications, etc.
The exhibition and forum agendas are in straight relation with the digitalization program and its implementation.
Among these new trends and technologies, throughout Europe, momentum is growing for 3D TV, with broadcasters, manufacturers, content creators, encoding specialists that are constantly studying and developing 3D technology.
At the CSTB 2012 edition, among the proposals and opportunities, on Feb. 9 from 10:00 am to 02:30 pm; a dedicated free 3D Workshop for 3D TV broadcasting and content production has been conceived to encourage and offer some insights to this exciting broadcast alternative. The 3DWorkshop is made possible by the support of Eutelsat, at the technological forefront of helping make 3D a revolutionary technology; and enriched by the experience of BBC Academy in delivering top 3D TV content production knowledge.
